In a previous discussion on whether SPYW will be beneficial for Internet users, there was a lot of criticism pouring in from Twitter and Facebook for not giving them importance in the search engine results.

In the last 48 hours, Facebook, Twitter and Firefox have joined hands and introduced the Don’t Be Evil bookmarklet which will tweak the SPYW results and show the Internet user genuine search engine result rather than Google+ based power social profiles and other results.
You can find all the details on Don’t be Evil at Focus On The User.
What does this bookmarklet do?
This bookmarklet is installed on the browser as Don’t Be Evil only. After this, do a Google search on any topic. It will show the SPYW results. Now click on the Don’t Be Evil bookmarklet on the browser and the search result will give you a genuine output.
The makers of Focus on the User have uploaded this marvelously descriptive video on this bookmarklet, how it works and how it can be installed.
Take a look.
…and you can take a look at the bookmarklet code here.
What does this prove?
When questioned previously, Google claimed that they cannot include the social results from Twitter, Facebook and other platforms because Google does not have the necessary permission to crawl their site.
Hence, SPYW will give preference to Google+.
BUT, the Don’t Be Evil bookmarklet shows that Google was not completely honest about it claims. The bookmarklet DOES show social media results from Facebook and Twitter.
Go ahead and install the bookmarklet extension, and enjoy genuine Google results.
